Behind the scenes.

I have always loved seeing real life up close. The ‘behind the scenes’. When I was a kid I didn’t want to watch television shows with animated characters - I wanted to see ‘real’ people. As I got older my dream was to work at MuchMusic. I was fascinated by watching the live production of the shows.

Recently I’ve realized that over the past several years I have been drawn to the behind the scenes again. But this time, the behind the scenes of ‘life’. How to ‘do’ life. How to ‘be’ in this life. How to create a life that you love. Habits, rituals, routines, values, passions, purpose. And also the behind the scenes of myself. My thoughts, feelings, behaviours, my processes. And there is still more that I am reflecting on.

Sometimes when you are so absorbed into something it’s hard to get a bird’s eye view to see what you are doing.

This realization is both surprising and logical. But most of all - profound.

It’s interesting to look back and see that I’ve been on this path all along. But things changed when I began looking at life through the lens of creation and experimentation rather than defined roles and outcomes - everything became possible. And when I started focusing on the discovery of myself. Looking inside for that next step instead of out. And having the courage to take it.

This is just one more piece of my puzzle that I am continuing to build. But, it’s a big one. And, i’m excited.
